Three weeks ago, I hear my phone ringing as I am pulling into our driveway and I dive for it trying wrestle it out of my ginormous purse before I miss the call, and I open it to hear my husbands excited voice " I need you to come to the restaurant right now. You have to drive to Apex. I just bought a barn." Insert hyperventilating and I swear a giggle here. I don't recall my witty response, but I arrive at the restaurant ten minutes later to find David positively glowing with excitement waiving a hundred dollar bill at me. Someone on Craigslist is selling a barn for $100. That's right $100 dollars!
The catch, of course, is that we have to disassemble it and bring it to our farm. My job is to meet the owner, check out the barn, evaluate how feasible this actually is ( I mean we are amazing, but we are taking about disassembling a 15 foot tall 9 ton barn by ourselves here!?) and pay the $100 dollars as a deposit.
Fortunately, our friend Graham was able to help us for several days and his indefatigable joy in tearing the roof apart kept us going. You're amazing Graham!!!!
It took us two weeks, a lot of sweat and a few tears working in the mornings before work and on our days off, but we did it!!!!!!! Barn disassembled.
